How long will it take for my print order to be ready?

Every order is peculiar. However from a generic standpoint, it would take a minimum of 48 hours for an order to be ready for delivery.

How can I pay?

Thanks to the multiple channels approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria, we operate the following payment channels: Electronic Bank Transfers Cheques and Bank drafts POS/Card payments CASH (upon delivery) Please be careful to note the option you choose at the point of making your order.

What does resolution and DPI mean?

DPI is the amount of ink dots per inch; 300 dots per inch is the required standard for printed material. Anything below 200 dpi may not be good enough resolution for printing.

At what resolution should I save my photos and graphics?

Resolution should be set to 300 dpi. Pictures and graphics pulled from the internet are often low resolution, typically 72 dpi or 96 dpi. Avoid these graphics, as they will appear pixilated and blocky when printed. Also note that you should save all photos in CMYK mode, not RGB mode when possible. Images saved in RGB mode may not print properly. If you are unable to save your image in CYMK mode, please let us know.

How do I go about getting an estimate from you?

Well, since you are here, we would suggest you use our online quote request form. Otherwise, the best way to ensure that we get all the information necessary to do an accurate quote is to give us a call and talk with one of our estimators or client service representatives.

How long does it take for you to complete my order?

On a generic level, we typically turnaround projects in 1 to 3 working days from receipt of final approval. We also realize there are times when you need us to step it up and deliver your projects sooner. We will do our best to honor your requests for quicker delivery if it is in our power to do so. It is always best to check with us early on in the development of a project so that we may help complete your project on time and on budget.

Is white considered a printing color?

Not typically. This is because white is the default color of many print substrates (particularly most papers), it is simply recognized as the absence of any ink. However, when using colored paper, white ink may be used if any text or graphic requires it.

What file format should I use when submitting my electronic document for printing?

The most commonly suggested format for electronic documents is CDR (Corel Draw Format). However, we prefer you make a submission in PDF, although we an access almost all known digital document formats. With the installation of a PDF print driver on your computer, virtually any program can generate a PDF file suitable for printing. Both commercial and free PDF print drivers are available online for download from different sources. Learn more about preparing your files for upload here

How do I proof-read or confirm my print order before actual printing?

What is a proof and why is it important that I look at it?

In printing terms, a proof is a one-off copy of your document after all modifications and printing setup processes have been completed. It is your last and best opportunity to make sure that the print job comes out the way you want. By painstakingly carefully inspecting the proof, you can help us assure an accurate, flawless delivery of your print job on the first run.

What is the Pantone Matching System?

The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a color reproduction standard in which colors all across the spectrum are each identified by a unique, independent number. The use of PMS allows us to precisely match colors and maintain color consistency throughout the printing process.

Why do the printed colors look different from the colors on my screen?

Actually, printers and monitors produce colors in different ways. Monitors use the RGB (red, green, blue) color model, which usually supports a wider spectrum of colors. Printers use the CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color model, which can reproduce most—but not all—of the colors in the RGB color model. Depending on the equipment used, CMYK generally matches 85–90% of the colors in the RGB model. When a color is selected from the RGB model that is out of the range of the CMYK model, the application chooses what it thinks is the closest color that will match. Programs like Adobe Photoshop will allow you to choose which color will be replaced. Others may not.

I’m not sure if my artwork is correct, what should I do?

That’s why we are here. If you are in any doubt or have any questions please contact us and we will be delighted to help you. Or, choose to email your artwork when ordering and tell us in the email what you are unsure about and we will check it out for you. We’re not just printers; we have specialists in digital works & graphics, so you that don’t have to be!

What is the difference between pages and leaves?

A leaf is a sheet of paper and a page is typically a side of paper, so a leaf of paper could be two printed pages (2pp) if double sided or just one printed page (1pp) if single sided.

What is Bleed?

Ink that prints beyond the trim edge of the page to ensure it extends to the edge of the page after trimming. As there is a degree of movement when printing on any press, you should always create 3mm bleed on all edges where bleed is needed. Supplying your job without bleed may result in white lines when we trim it.

What is the difference between CMYK and RGB?

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black – the inks our Indigo digital presses mix together to make colours on your printed job. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue – the colours of light a computer screen mixes together to make colours on your screen.

Do I need to adhere to certain margins when designing my book?

Yes. The cover is fixed to the spine and up to 7mm on the side of the book. With this in mind we recommend that you use a margin of 12mm on the spine side of your inside pages to give you a 5mm gap from the edge of your text to the spine of the book when bound.

Do I need to supply fonts?

If you supply us with a print ready pdf then the fonts should be embedded. We might need the fonts when supplying files in other formats.

There is something wrong with my order, what do I do?

We strive to make sure your order is produced to best quality standards. In the unlikely event that you find something wrong, please contact us and explain the issue. We’ll do our best to resolve it to your satisfaction in record time.

Can I cancel my order?

Prior to check-out, certainly yes! After check-out, your order will begin our automated production process. As we’re manufacturing something just for you, an outright cancellation is not advised. Instead we recommend corrections, since it is not possible to cancel your order once we begin.

I’ve noticed a mistake, can I change my order?

Please check your design carefully before you click “finish”. The first set of human eyes proof-reading your design will be your own when you open the box. We don’t want you to be sad. So please check all telephone numbers, dates, times, addresses, prices and spelling before you order. If you spot an error or omission after you’ve checked-out, then painfully, we apologise for our inability to make any amendments.
